Since their founding in 1974, HAVI/tms— a global, privately-owned company and McDonald’s supplier— has been a supporter of Ronald McDonald House, consistent with their brand purpose to “reimagine the connections between people and products to create a better future.” HAVI’s/tms commitment includes consistent support of Ronald McDonald House Global and local Chapters in several countries with financial contributions, employee donations and volunteer support.

In 2022, HAVI/tms supported several European Ronald McDonald House Chapters. HAVI/tms partnered with Ronald McDonald House Portugal and Ronald McDonald House Spain to transport over 80 pallets filled with essential items like canned goods, blankets, mattresses, sanitary products, towels, winter clothes and more. The goods were split between two organizations for distribution throughout Ukraine.

In Italy, HAVI/tms staff members visited a local Ronald McDonald Family Room program and spent time preparing gifts for the families served by the program each day. The Family Room in Milan, is one of over 265 Ronald McDonald Family Room programs, which provide families a space to rest and recharge for the next wave of advocacy when confronted with a child’s long-term hospital stay.

Additionally, HAVI/tms supported the McDonald’s gala in Germany last year, which raised a total of 1.1 million euros for Ronald McDonald House Germany. This substantial donation will help Ronald McDonald House Germany provide access to critical care and resources to even more children and their families — something the Chapter hopes to accomplish with their newest Ronald McDonald House, set to open in May 2023.

One of the reasons for HAVI’s/tms vast support are local employees like, Markus Tenbergen. Markus is an Ronald McDonald House champion within HAVI/tms in Germany. He has organized several golf tournaments, raising significant funds for Ronald McDonald House Germany. Additionally, Markus and his colleagues volunteer at the Chapter’s annual summer party, bringing joy to children and their families utilizing Ronald McDonald House Germany’s programs. One of Markus’s colleagues, Herbert Pöhlmann has also been a steadfast advocate for Ronald McDonald House in Germany. As the captain of the HAVI/tms corporate team in the local Chapter’s biking fundraiser, he goes above and beyond to ensure the team is well-trained and prepared for race day.
